12 Easy People Drawing Ideas
Hey.
I wanted to share these 12 easy drawing ideas based on people.
Some of them are more cartoony and others are more figurative; either way they are all very easy to draw.
Grab your sketchbook and let's start doodling.
My go-to person
I do this one all the time. It is inspired by Guy Delisle and his comics (which are awesome btw!)
Loosey Goosey
I like this style for the simple fact that the heads are big ovals and the bodies have limbs that are wavey.
So it feels like you can't actually draw this one badly.
My Daughter's People
At the time of writing my daughter is 5 and this is how she draws people.
I couldn't not include this one as it is so cute and very easy.
Sketched Cartoon
If I were to draw people in a more realistic but still cartoon-like way, this is how I would do it.
Sketch everything out quickly and lightly, and then start adding more defined lines, and before you know it, a person begins to emerge.
It's very freeing to draw in this way.
Desperate Dan Jr.
This little chap is inspired by desperate Dan.
Blockheads
Draw a person, but everything has to be square or rectangular.
Matisse Figures
Inspired by the art of Henri Matisse, these figures are made up of simple coloured shapes.
They are easy to produce and look really effective too.
Fashion Figures
Inspired by fashion sketches. These figures are much thinner and taller (and with smaller heads).
My advice here is to move quickly and lightly.
Futurama Dude
The Simpsons and Futurama have inspired many generations of artists with their big round eyes, overbite and round teeth.
Stick Silhouette
I enjoy drawing stick figures like this and putting them in large empty landscapes.
Hey Arnold
When I was a kid I watched 'Hey Arnold'.
In that show, the people had unusual heads with small eyes that were wide apart.
You can have a lot of fun playing with head shapes and eye size/positions.
Kawaii Girl
Kawaii things are one of the most fun to draw because they are very simple, but when they are done, they look pro.
I hope you found these inspiring and that they helped you find new ways to draw people.
