Easy Drawing Ideas with Circles

Taking a simple shape, like a circle, is a great idea for getting your imagination going.

All you need to do is draw a circle and then think of round things that you can turn the circle into.

I've come up with some ideas to help get your creative juices flowing.

The Sun

Ok, I have added a lot of rays but you can just colour the circle in yellow and you have the Sun.

Yin & Yang

When I was a teenager I would draw this all the time.

I wanted to do a "sketchy" version to feel different.

Balloons

When you are drawing balloons, add a little triangle to the base of the circle and don't forget the little square in the top left - this is what makes it feel 3D and look shiny.

Faces

This is probably my favourite thing to draw with circles as it makes you think about all the things that make up a person's face.

A Bowling Ball

Yep, 3 dots and the shiny rectangle is all this one takes.

Animals

Ok. You can't make every animal out of a circle but you can try!

Balls

I decided to draw a beach ball but you could do a basketball, football, tennis ball etc.

Just remember to think about what it looks like before you start to draw.

Fruit Slices

This is so much fun, especially when you add colours to the mix.

Pizza

Not quite as colourful as the fruit but still just as fun.

I opted for the iconic pepperoni but any toppings are welcome (even pineapple).

Bubbles

Much like the balloons the rectangle in the top left is important.

I also added the two thin lines to make it extra shiny.

Planets

I have always loved drawing planets and today was no exception.

Try adding different rings, textures and land/sea.

Clocks

I went with roman numerals but your clock (or watch) can be any design you want.
